BusinessIMF Warns of Global Risks from AI, Energy Crisis, and Debt
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that the world faces significant risks from an unbalanced artificial intelligence boom, prolonged energy shocks, and record-high debt levels. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva highlighted that AI-driven growth is currently limited to a few countries, while ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine will continue to disrupt commodity supplies until 2027. She also noted that rising bond yields are pressuring governments with high debt, especially advanced economies, and called for cautious monetary policies to manage inflationary pressures.
