IMD Warns of Cyclone and Heavy Rain in South India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall across south peninsular India due to the Northeast monsoon. A low-pressure area in the south Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 26, moving toward north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts. Heavy to very heavy rain is predicted in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and surrounding regions from October 24 to 28.
