IIT-Delhi PhD Student Dies After 45 Days of Treatment; FIR Filed

A 40-year-old PhD student of IIT-Delhi was found unconscious and injured in his rented accommodation in Munirka on August 18. After over 45 days of treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre, he died on October 3. Following Supreme Court directions and a complaint from IIT security, an FIR under section 108 (abetment of suicide) was registered at Kishangarh police station on October 4. The incident occurred outside the IIT campus.
