IISc Develops 3D-Printed Model to Study Cancer Drug Penetration
Researchers at IISc Bengaluru have created a low-cost, 3D-printed device to study why cancer drugs are less effective in deeper regions of solid tumours. The device mimics nutrient- and oxygen-deprived tumour conditions, allowing analysis of cancer cell responses at different depths. This innovation addresses challenges in replicating tumour microenvironments and drug effects in lab settings.
