IEX Electricity Trade Volume Grows 10.4% to 12.2 BU in September

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) reported a 10.4% year-on-year increase in electricity trade volume to 12.2 billion units (BU) in September 2026. In Q2 FY27, IEX traded 39,685 million units (MU), up 12.7% year-on-year. Average market clearing prices rose 46% in the day-ahead market and 49% in the real-time market compared to Q2 FY26. India's energy consumption grew 11.5% to 502 BU in Q2 FY27, with peak power demand reaching 269 GW on September 10, 2026.
