ICAR-IIHR Develops Hot Water Treatment to Boost South Indian Mango Exports
ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, has developed a new postharvest hot water treatment protocol to control fruit fly and anthracnose in commercial mango cultivars. Previously, separate treatments were needed: 48°C for 60 minutes for fruit fly and 52°C for 5-10 minutes for anthracnose. This new protocol aims to simplify and enhance export quality of South Indian mangoes.
