IAF Receives First 3 Indigenous HTT-40 Trainer Aircraft

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) delivered the first three HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on September 18 in Bengaluru. Full pilot training using these aircraft may take up to two years as the IAF plans to build a fleet of 25-30 planes and train flying instructors. Initially, the HTT-40s will be used at the Flying Instructors’ School in Tambaram to prepare instructors who will train rookie pilots at the Air Force Academy near Hyderabad.
