PoliticsIAF Chief Says MRFA Deal Likely by FY27 End with 36-40 Fighters Annually
Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh stated that India expects to finalize the Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) deal by the end of the financial year 2026-27. The acquisition of 114 fighter jets, including Rafale aircraft from France, is in the price negotiation stage. The IAF requires 36 to 40 fighter jets annually to replenish its depleting fleet, making this the largest fighter acquisition for India.
