I-T Department Launches One-Time Amnesty for Undisclosed Foreign Assets

The Income Tax Department has introduced the Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers – Disclosure Scheme, 2026 (FAST-DS), allowing taxpayers to regularise undisclosed foreign assets by paying 30% tax and an equal penalty. The fully online scheme is open until December 31, 2026, offering immunity from further assessments and prosecution under the Black Money Act. Taxpayers can also avoid penalties by paying a Rs 1 lakh fee to report accounted assets.
