On October 31, Hoshiarpur in Punjab recorded the highest air pollution in India with an AQI of 330, categorized as hazardous. Rohtak in Haryana followed with an AQI of 311, also hazardous. Punjab had six cities in the top ten, mostly in the severe category, while Haryana had three. Meerut in Uttar Pradesh was the only city outside these states in the top ten polluted list.
