Hindu Teacher Killed Mediating Land Dispute in Bangladesh

Manoranjan Roy, a 55-year-old Hindu assistant head teacher at Chak Sukdebpur Government Primary School in Dinajpur, Bangladesh, was beaten to death while mediating a land and road dispute in Parbatipur upazila. The accused, 32-year-old Asaduzzaman, was arrested. Police deployed additional forces to prevent unrest. Roy died on the spot and his body was sent for autopsy at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
