High Court reinstates ban on non-veg near Somnath Temple

The Gujarat High Court on Friday reinstated the ban on the sale of non-vegetarian food within 500 meters of the Somnath Temple. Earlier, a single-judge bench had lifted the restriction, but a two-judge bench stayed that order following an immediate appeal by the Gujarat government. The ban, imposed by the district collector on August 10, 2026, remains in effect. The next hearing is scheduled for December 26.
