Helicopter operators in Uttarakhand have threatened to suspend Char Dham charter services starting November 2 in protest against the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority's new rule mandating a co-pilot on all helicopters flying the pilgrimage route. The rule was introduced after a fatal crash near Joshimath on October 30. Operators say the twin-pilot mandate is financially unviable without proper consultation or assessment.
