Heavy Rains Damage 2,405 km of Roads in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Department reported that heavy rains from a severe cyclonic storm damaged 2,405 km of roads statewide, with restoration costs estimated at ₹1,498.30 crore. Srikakulam district suffered the most damage, affecting 412 km of roads. Temporary repairs have been made at 36 breach sites and nine major damage locations to maintain traffic flow. Restoration of 169 out of 187 damaged cross-drainage works is underway, and fallen trees at 254 sites have been cleared.
