On October 26, 2026, heavy rains lashed southern Tamil Nadu districts including Ramanathapuram, Dindigul, Madurai, and Theni. Over 100 mm of rainfall was recorded in areas like Rameswaram, Pamban, Thangachimadam, and R.S. Mangalam in Ramanathapuram district. Roads near Bharathi Nagar in Ramanathapuram experienced waterlogging. The highways department restricted heavy vehicle movement after 6 p.m. as a precaution. The ghat section roads leading to Kodaikanal from Batlagundu were also affected, disrupting normal life.
