ScienceHaryana Power Plant Emissions 38.8 Times Limit, Faces ₹31.46 Crore Penalty
The Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Project in Haryana’s Yamuna Nagar emitted particulate matter 38.8 times above the prescribed limit from one unit. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) imposed an interim environmental compensation of ₹31.46 crore for emissions between February 10 and June 15. Unit 2 recorded 1,939 mg/Nm³ against the 50 mg/Nm³ standard. The plant has two 300 MW units commissioned in 2008.
