Guntur Team Reports Success in Phage Therapy for Drug-Resistant Infections

A research team led by Dr. Kalyan Chakravarthy Koganti at SHRI Hospital in Guntur has reported success in treating multidrug-resistant infections using bacteriophage therapy. Their findings were published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID Regions). The research received a biomedical grant from the Sree Padmavathi Venkateswara Foundation, coinciding with World Bacteriophage Day and Bacteriophage Week from October 22 to 28, 2026.
