Gulf Crude Shipments Return to Pre-War Levels Despite Hormuz Blockade
Despite disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, crude oil shipments from the West Asian Gulf region, excluding Iran, have returned to pre-war levels. Maritime intelligence firm Kpler reported that at least 16.5 million barrels per day of crude were shipped between September 1 and 28, matching the average before the conflict. Countries have reduced reliance on oil tankers passing through the strait.
