Gujarat High Court Denies Asaram's Interim Bail to Meet Ill Wife

The Gujarat High Court on Wednesday refused to grant Asaram 20 days of interim bail to meet his 83-year-old wife undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ahmedabad. Justices Geeta Gopi and LS Pirzada heard the petition. Asaram is currently imprisoned in Jodhpur jail, Rajasthan. The court suggested he request video conferencing with his wife through the jail superintendent. Doctors reported positive treatment response and expect discharge in 2-3 days. This is the second time in a month the court denied his bail request.
