GRSE and Goa Shipyard to Build 8 Next-Gen Navy Corvettes

The Indian Navy will receive eight next-generation corvettes under a Rs 40,000 crore defence project. State-owned Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) and Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) will build the warships, featuring an indigenous stealth design. The Cabinet Committee on Security approved the project, with contracts expected soon. Each vessel will displace around 2,000 tonnes and reach speeds of 30 knots.
