Grenada Artificial Reef Project Uses Cinder-Block Pyramids Since 2013
Since 2013, the Grenada Artificial Reef Project has placed concrete cinder-block pyramids on the Caribbean seabed to promote marine habitats. These structures quickly attracted algae and invertebrates, resembling natural reef species. Ongoing research aims to determine their effectiveness in supporting natural reef recovery and their long-term impact on nearby ecosystems.
