The government has directed telecom providers to implement Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) from November 1, 2026. This service will show the caller's name alongside their phone number on the recipient's screen, aiding call identification. Trials have been conducted on 4G and higher networks. CNAP will be automatic for users, while 2G, 3G, and PSTN implementation will be reviewed separately.
