Government Raises Windfall Tax on Diesel and ATF, Cuts Petrol Export Duty

The Indian government increased the windfall tax on diesel exports to Rs 11.5 per litre and on ATF exports to Rs 11 per litre for the fortnight starting October 31. Meanwhile, the export duty on petrol has been reduced to zero from Rs 2.5 per litre. These changes aim to boost domestic fuel availability amid West Asia tensions and will not affect domestic petrol and diesel prices.
