Starting November 1, 2026, telecom operators in India must implement Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) to show callers' names and numbers on 4G and newer networks by default. This system will reduce unknown calls and eliminate the need for apps like Truecaller. Names for unsaved numbers will come from operators' databases, while international calls will be labeled accordingly. Implementation for 2G, 3G, and landlines will be decided later.
