Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary and Mission Director at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, emphasized that patient safety must be integrated across the health system, especially for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), which cause 63% of deaths in India. She highlighted achievements like 96% immunization and 90.6% institutional deliveries under NFHS-6 and stressed the need for quality assurance and NQAS certification of health centers by March 2027.
