Government Forms Team to Investigate eMudhra Digital Certificate Leak

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has formed a special team to investigate the leak of private keys linked to digital certificates issued by Bengaluru-based eMudhra. CERT-In issued an advisory noting the keys were generated with insufficient cryptographic randomness, compromising security. MeitY is working with stakeholders to resolve the issue promptly. eMudhra has issued over 60 million certificates since 2008.
