BusinessGovernment Considers Export Floor Price to Secure Cotton Yarn Supply
Cotton yarn prices have surged nearly 60%, rising from about ₹250 per kg in early 2026 to nearly ₹400 per kg now. This sharp increase is pressuring textile manufacturers, especially those producing fabrics and garments. The industry has submitted a proposal to the textiles ministry, which is currently reviewing the measure to ensure adequate domestic supplies.
