PoliticsGovernment Advises Social Media to Act on Unlawful Protest Posts
The Indian government has advised major social media platforms to promptly address unlawful content related to ongoing protests, based on complaints from authorized bodies including law enforcement. The Ministry of Electronics and IT expressed concern over false, misleading, or manipulated information circulating online that could disturb public order or incite violence. Platforms are also urged to label synthetic content depicting current events.
