Google is reportedly developing a new feature for its AI, Gemini, that would allow it to make phone calls and speak on behalf of users during personal conversations. This capability could extend beyond calling businesses to contacting friends or family and delivering messages. The feature was discovered in an APK teardown showing example commands like asking Gemini to call a mother and inform her of a delay or check dinner plans with a friend.

Pune GBS Outbreak Linked to Infections in Water and Poultry

A major 2025 Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) outbreak in Pune caused 12 deaths and affected 230 people from January to March. Investigations by ICMR's National Institute of Virology found infections played a key role. Nearly half the patients had Campylobacter jejuni infection, and over 50% had norovirus. Samples from water and poultry also showed these infections. Most patients had diarrhea before developing GBS, indicating infection as a trigger.
