Global PC Shipments Drop 22.4% in Q3 2026, Says Gartner

The global personal computer market contracted sharply in Q3 2026, with shipments falling 22.4% year-over-year to 55.4 million units, according to Gartner. This decline brought volumes back to early 2023 levels. Unlike past slumps caused by excess inventory, the drop was driven by soaring component costs, especially a fivefold increase in DRAM prices, which PC vendors passed on to customers, reducing demand.
