Geomagnetic Storms Boost Northern Lights Visibility This Weekend
Geomagnetic storms caused by three coronal mass ejections (CMEs) heading toward Earth are increasing the chances of Northern Lights displays across the US and Canada tonight and into the weekend. The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G2 (Moderate) Geomagnetic Storm Watch for October 9. Locations like New York and Idaho may witness aurora borealis if solar conditions align.
