GBA Trials Robotic Machines to Clear Silt from Bengaluru Stormwater Drains

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has started trial runs of robotic machines to clear silt from stormwater drains in Bengaluru. These remotely operated machines clean covered drains without excavation. GBA Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao inspected a trial in HSR Layout and directed extensive deployment if successful. The machine cleans up to 30 meters, loosening silt and vacuuming it into an 8,000-litre storage tank.
