Ganga Canal Closed Until Nov 8 for Maintenance, Affecting Water Supply

The Ganga Canal will remain closed until November 8 for annual maintenance, desilting, and ghat redevelopment. This closure affects irrigation water supply across 15 districts in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, and seven districts in the National Capital Region. Drinking water supply to parts of the NCR, including Ghaziabad's Pratap Vihar treatment plant, will also be impacted. Authorities have been informed, and minimum water flow at Brahmakund in Haridwar is urged for rituals.
