Gang Arrested for Possessing Two Elephant Tusks in Vellore

The Forest Department arrested three men for smuggling two large elephant tusks near Gudiyatham town in Vellore. The accused, K. Thiruvengadam from Chittoor and his relatives G. Munusamy and S. Govindaraj from Anaicut, were caught by forest officials led by S. Pradeep Kumar while trying to sell the tusks. They were stopped at a bus depot on Gudiyatham–Pallikonda Main Road after giving contradictory answers about their visit.
