Fugitive Businessman Arrested in US for Venezuela Bribery Case

Alvaro Pulido, wanted in the US for bribing Venezuelan officials to secure state contracts, was taken into custody. Indicted in Miami federal court in 2019 and 2021, Pulido was linked to Alex Saab, an ally of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The DEA, FBI, and Homeland Security led the investigation. Pulido will appear in Miami court on Tuesday. The US offered a $10 million reward for his arrest.

Maharashtra Government formed a committee to investigate alleged irregularities in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), appointing senior IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe as Secretary. Joshi Bridge, aspirants ended their agitation as most demands, including the inquiry committee formation, were accepted. Aspirants still seek Bhimanwar's removal and MPSC reforms.
