FSSAI Seizes 3,280 Tonnes of Food, Cancels 52 Licences Nationwide

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) seized 3,280 tonnes of banned and non-compliant food products worth Rs 82 crore during a nationwide inspection from September 1 to November 5. The drive targeted adulteration during the festive season, resulting in 52 licence cancellations, 1,133 suspensions, and sealing of 314 establishments. FSSAI inspected 56,431 food outlets and issued 10,047 improvement notices.
