BusinessFPIs Withdraw ₹35,860 Crore from Indian Equities in September
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned net sellers in September 2026, pulling out ₹35,860 crore from Indian equities amid global uncertainties, high U.S. interest rates, and elevated crude oil prices. This followed two months of buying in July and August. FPIs have withdrawn about ₹2.7 lakh crore from Indian equities so far in 2026, compared to ₹1.66 lakh crore in 2025.
