Forest Department Issues Stop Memo to PCK for Illegal Use of Lease-Expired Forestland

The Divisional Forest Office, Vazhachal division in Thrissur, issued a stop memo against Plantation Corporation of Kerala Ltd. (PCK) for illegal occupation and commercial use of about 4,261 hectares of lease-expired forestland in Chalakudy division. The land was leased between 1961 and 1972 for 50 years. Despite a Kerala High Court order on August 5 restraining entry, private parties continued pineapple cultivation, violating forest rules.
