A forensic report on the October 17 stampede at Kolkata's Chorbagan Durga Puja pandal, which caused 19 deaths, revealed inadequate ventilation and cooling arrangements despite 24 air conditioners with a combined capacity of 139 tons. The pandal's size and heavy crowd exceeded the cooling capacity, causing suffocation. Rain increased the crowd inside, preventing people from exiting and raising safety concerns about crowd management and emergency evacuation.
