Foreign investors have withdrawn ₹3.84 lakh crore (approximately $56 billion) from the Indian market over the past 24 months. Brokerage firms suggest that foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) are currently trading rather than investing long-term. NSE CEO Ashish Chauhan noted that foreign funds might return once the AI boom slows down. Bernstein highlighted challenges for a strong FPI comeback despite the AI and semiconductor boom.
