Foreign Investors Withdraw $26.3 Billion from Emerging Markets in September
In September, foreign investors pulled $26.3 billion from emerging-market stocks and bonds, driven by rising US Treasury yields and the Federal Reserve's hawkish interest rate hikes. This marked the first outflow since June. South Korea experienced heavy foreign selling, significantly reducing emerging-market equities. Year-to-date, fixed-income assets attracted $246 billion, while equities faced outflows totaling $113.9 billion.
