FM Sitharaman Clarifies UPI MDR Charge Is Not a Government Issue

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman clarified that the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) charge on UPI transactions is not a government issue. She explained that the MDR fee collected from merchants does not cover the entire cost of UPI, which is estimated at Rs 21,000 crore.
