Florida Creates Three Artificial Reefs Using 1,500 Tons of Recycled Concrete
Florida is installing 1,500 tons (three million pounds) of recycled concrete drainage pipes to form three artificial reefs on the seabed. Located between four and eight nautical miles off East Pass, these reefs aim to enhance marine habitats for local fish species, improving fishing and diving opportunities. The reefs' varied depths will support diverse marine life.
