Five Injured in Gas Leak Fire at IIT Bombay Hostel

Five people, including two children, were injured after a gas leak from a cylinder pipe caused a fire at hostel number 6 on the IIT Bombay campus in Powai. The incident occurred around 10:25 pm. The injured were taken to Rajawadi Hospital, with four later moved to Kasturba Hospital. The victims are Ansh Ahirwar (12), Tahjib Aalam (9), Ishwar Singh (37), Shivkumar Singh (34), and Anilkumar Yadav (23). Police and BMC staff responded promptly.

20-Day Traffic Restrictions for Vibhutipura Lake Drain Bridge Work in Bengaluru

From October 10, vehicular movement will be restricted for 20 days on Basavanagar Main Road in Bengaluru due to bridge construction over the Vibhutipura Lake stormwater drain. Heavy goods vehicles, BMTC and school buses, and light goods vehicles from Marathahalli, HAL, Vibhutipura, and Basavanagar towards Vignan Nagar, Kaggadasapura, Malleshpalya, and BEML will be diverted. Traffic in the opposite direction will also face restrictions. Alternative routes via Old Airport Main Road and Suranjan Das Road are suggested.
