In September, Delhi's average PM2.5 level was 38 µg/m³, showing improvement. However, Haryana was a major pollution hotspot with five cities—Panipat, Jind, Yamunanagar, Gurugram, and Manesar—among India's 10 most polluted. Panipat recorded the highest monthly average PM2.5 at 78 µg/m³, exceeding the national daily standard on 20 of 29 days. Other polluted cities included Khora, Mandi Gobindgarh, Pithampur, Gorakhpur, and Byrnihat.
