The Finance Ministry has instructed State and Union Territory Bankers’ Committees to include data on the percentage of Scheduled Caste beneficiaries in key Central schemes like Mudra Yojana, Stand Up India, PM Employment Generation Programme, and MSME loans. This follows concerns from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes about incomplete reporting, which affected its constitutional duties. The directive was issued on October 5, 2026.
