FCC Grants Intel One-Year Waiver for Foreign-Made Robotics
The Federal Communications Commission granted Intel a one-year waiver from its ban on certain foreign-made advanced robotics to avoid disruptions in domestic semiconductor manufacturing. Intel stated the robotic devices, used for over two decades to transport materials within its US semiconductor facilities, are critical and lack domestic alternatives. The waiver allows Intel to update software, firmware, and hardware for its Automated Guided Vehicles.
