Farmers Protest Land Acquisition for Reliance Data Center in Vizianagaram

Farmers in Vizianagaram district are protesting against the acquisition of around 850 acres of land in Bhogapuram mandal for a Reliance Data Center project. They have been demonstrating by standing shirtless before the mandal parishad officer. The government currently holds 50 acres and seeks to acquire an additional 800 acres. Some farmers have approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court and boycotted a government meeting. Officials stated acquisition follows the Land Acquisition Act and compensation will be paid.
