In Vellore's Palankuppam near Pernambut, a farmer S. Ranaganathan, 75, and his son R. Suresh, 45, were electrocuted by a snapped live wire of an illegal electric fence meant to keep wild boars away. They were checking saplings on their five-acre farmland when the accident occurred. Both died on the spot. Police and neighbors responded promptly, disconnecting power and conducting a postmortem.
