Extreme Heat Raises Risks for Pregnant Women and Newborns, Survey Shows
A global survey of 1,000 maternal healthcare professionals across India, Australia, Brazil, the UK, and Zimbabwe found that nearly three-quarters reported increased heat-related complications in pregnant women and newborns over the past five years. Almost all respondents had cared for patients adversely affected by extreme heat. The findings highlight growing health risks amid intensifying global heat, ahead of UN climate talks.
